Our Story & Team

Built by a Tutor Who Refused to Let Students Fail

Scholar Space was founded on a simple belief: every student can improve in Maths with the right guidance, not just more drilling.

Meet Your Tutor

Jerome Ong

Jerome co-founded Scholar Space after years of tutoring Secondary Maths students across Singapore. He noticed that most tuition centres relied on repetitive drilling — and that students were passing exams but not acing them because they never truly understood mathematics.

His approach is different: start with the concept, then the method, then build exam speed. This is why Scholar Space students don't just improve their grades — they develop lasting mathematical confidence.

"If you've ever thought 'I'm just bad at Maths' — you're not bad! You just haven't been taught in a way that makes sense to you yet."

How We Teach

Our Teaching Philosophy

Every lesson at Scholar Space follows a three-stage sequence that builds real mathematical ability — not exam-passing tricks.

🧠

1. Understand

We always start with the why. Students learn what a method means conceptually — no blind formula memorisation. When students understand the concept, formulas come naturally.

✏️

2. Apply

Students practice in guided, low-pressure conditions using our custom interactive games and structured exercises. Mistakes here are learning opportunities, not failures.

⏱

3. Perform

Finally, students practise under timed, exam-like conditions. By this stage, the method feels natural — and accuracy under pressure becomes achievable.

🎮 Interactive Math Games

Custom-built tools for graph interpretation, algebra, and geometry. Students practise without fear of failure and build speed through repetition they actually enjoy.

👥 Small Groups (Max 6)

We cap all classes at 6 students. Every student gets individual questions answered every session — not left behind while the tutor moves on.

📊 Regular Progress Reports

Parents receive updates on what their child worked on, where they improved, and where to focus next. No guessing how your child is doing.

📋 MOE-Aligned Curriculum

Every topic, every exercise, every game is built around the current MOE Singapore Mathematics syllabus. No wasted effort on out-of-syllabus content.

What Parents Say
